Foods That Trigger Acne Breakouts – Part 2

dessertIn our last blog post, we covered a few of the things that you might be eating that could be causing your skin to breakout. Our goal with providing you this information is to give you the information that you need to minimize the amount of breakouts that you’re having. That being said, we’re going to continue building out the list of foods that irritate skin and cause breakouts.

Sweets

As if sweets didn’t already have a bad enough rep with weight gain and diabetes, they are also directly tied to acne breakouts. The more sugar that you’re consuming, the more that your body is trying to release through your pores, which is when breakouts happen. If you are someone with a huge sweet tooth, then your best attempt at cutting this down is through moderation or just setting aside different types of natural sweets, like fruits, that could substitute the rich and heavy desserts that do create the need for our pores to release these toxins.

Bread

While it isn’t nearly as sweet as cut caramel squares, bread is a carbohydrate which our bodies process as a sugar. Once this is done processing your body will still need to release the high amounts of sugar through your pores. This makes it why it creates the breakouts we all hate. Finding substitutes for bread, and any carbohydrates really is a great way to make sure that this food group isn’t creating acne breakouts down the road for you. Substituting your pastas for veggie noodles and your breads for gluten free bread or even potato cakes would be a great way to try and counter this specific food group.

spicySpicy Foods

If you a fan of the hot, spicy foods, then you could also be setting yourself up for some serious breakouts. These foods are also incredibly high in their acidic levels, which irritates the skin more. While it’s definitely hard to say no to your favorite foods all of the time, laying off might be something to consider if you’re looking to clear your skin up. And if you’re one of those people that usually douses their food in hot sauce, well, laying off on that also might also show some serious benefits.

Potato Chips

chipsThese quick and easy snack are another way that you can doom yourself to awful breakups. While they may be delicious, they are created with an intense amount of oils, that will then try and make it’s way out of your body, through your pores. People who have skin that is extremely oily will often be consumers of food that is extremely oily as well. Switch this out for a baked chip or some other type of crunchy snack to eliminate the amount of oil build up on your face.
