What Is HBOT?

At Azeal Dermatology Institute, we are committed to advancing skin health and wellness through innovative treatments. One such treatment gaining attention is Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT). Learn more below, then schedule your appointment today.

How It Works

We offer a mild hyperbaric chamber that reaches a pressure of 1.3 ATA (4 PSI), similar to descending 11 feet underwater. The chamber we use is renowned for being one of the safest and most popular hyperbaric chambers available. During your session, you will be securely zipped into the chamber, which will gradually pressurize with air until it reaches 1.3 ATA (a process that takes approximately 10 minutes). Once at full pressure, you will remain there for the scheduled session duration of 60 minutes. Afterward, the chamber will decompress, taking about 5 minutes, and your session will conclude.

What to Expect

We utilize the Summit to Sea™ HBOT chamber. In the chamber, the combination of increased pressure and elevated oxygen levels — approximately 50-60%, compared to the roughly 20% found in the atmosphere — enhances oxygen absorption in our lungs. This therapy is beneficial for overall longevity, tissue healing, and protection of cognitive decline.

Who Can Benefit?

HBOT isn’t just for serious medical conditions; it may also benefit athletes recovering from injuries, individuals looking to enhance their skin health, and those with specific dermatological concerns.
