clear-skin-img2Here in Colorado, especially Boulder, we find a lot of people who are trying to go all natural. They want natural groceries, natural toiletries, and even natural forms of transportation. While some of these are easier to find than others, there are some areas that going all natural is easier than you think.

When it comes to skincare, the list of natural remedies goes on and on. There are so many of these natural skin treatments that you probably have the ingredients for a few in your kitchen right now.

Some natural remedies work for some people better than others. If you find they are not working for you, Azeal Dermatology Institute could help you find a treatment that does work for you. All skin is different, which is why there are different treatments.

Everyone seems to have their own home remedies for their breakouts, but the most common ones are the ones that seem to work the best.

Here is a list of a few treatments that seem to work for most people:

Honey

Honey must have some magical property that helps fight acne. You can use honey, alone, or mix it with several different things to make the acne fighting power even more intense. Honey has an antibiotic property that makes killing the bacteria that creates acne super easy.

Honey can also be mixed with cinnamon, oatmeal, milk, strawberries, yogurt, avocado, and probably just about anything else to create a powerful and working acne treatment. Each of these mix-ins have a special property of their own that adds to the fighting power of honey. Cinnamon has antimicrobial properties which keeps bacteria from spreading too much. Yogurt and milk helps sooth irritated skin and can act as a natural moisturizer. Avocado is full of vitamins and is good for sensitive skin. Oatmeal helps treat inflammation and redness.

Honey is the ultimate acne killer. But it is not the only one.

Lemon Juice

Lemon juice has a few different helpful properties when trying to fight acne. The vitamin C found in lemons is good for skin and since it is a citric acid, it acts as an exfoliator. Lemon juice is also an astringent which causes a blemish to dry out.

Lemon juice is a common home remedy for acne, which means it must work for most people.

Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar has many health benefits. Fighting acne can be added to the list. The lactic and malic acid in the vinegar exfoliate skin, reduce redness, and helps treat the blemish. It kills the bacteria that is causing breakouts and helps balance the pH of your skin. It is basically a do-everything remedy.

Tea Tree Oil

Tea tree oil mixed with water can be used as a very effective acne treatment. It cuts through sebum, which is an oily substance that mixes with dead skin cells and creates breakouts, and the tea tree oil unclogs the pores. It is also antibacterial, which kills the bacteria that is causing acne.

These are only a few natural home remedies for treating acne and breakouts. The list goes on and on, as more people add their own treatments that worked for them. Not all treatments will work for you, and the ones that work for you won’t always work for others.

If none of the home remedies you have tried seem to be working for you, Azeal Dermatology Institute can help find a treatment that will work for you.
