Tips For Your First Wax
Your first wax is going to be a bit nerve wracking, and that’s just a part of the process. But the truth is that once you’ve experience your first wax, you won’t ever want to go back to shaving. That is, if your first waxing experience is a good one.
For the most part, when you schedule your waxing session with your dermatologist, they’ll cover the following tips, because we want nothing less than the best waxing session for you.
Let It Grow
While the whole point of waxing is to remove body hair, a waxing session works best when hair is long enough for it to be entirely removed. In fact, the way that hair grows is actually in double layers. So, when we remove even the outer layer of hair, there is another hair that is growing directly behind it. The longer that these hairs grow, the more we can remove during the waxing, which in turn leads to more time hair free.
Stay Away From Fragrances
Any types of lotions, creams, perfumes or soaps that have a fragrance added can cause irritation and pain to the area that was just waxed. This should only last immediately after the wax up to one full day afterwards. Keeping it casual for the first couple of hours is great by simply using gentle products, then move on back to your fancy products.
Stay Out Of The Sun
When hair is freshly waxed, the skin is extremely sensitive. This includes UV rays. While it’s not great to be out in the sun in general after a wax, if you are planning on going out in the sun it’s best to use a fragrance free sunscreen that will keep you protected but still minimize irritation.
